Introducing the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning for Sale at Murray Motor Company
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is proving a hit with many prospective consumers even before its release, with an impressive range and towing capability for an all-electric vehicle in any class. If you want to know what lies in store for you with this relative newcomer to the F-150 lineup, Murray Motor Company wants to make sure you have a full understanding of the specifications, amenities, and other features that this bold new F-150 has in store for you.
Under the Hood
One thing you will notice about the F-150 Lightning is that what's under the hood sets it apart from its fuel-powered F-150 counterparts. We are not talking about the engine; the engine lies underneath the cab along the length of the vehicle itself. What you will find is an extremely large and generous front-facing trunk, with additional power outlets and connection ports inside the front trunk.
As for the powertrain, the F-150 Lightning features two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and over 770 pound-feet of torque. These highlights are standard across the model's lineup. The two main variables for you to decide on are the range of the battery. The standard range battery uses dual engines with an impressive peak of over 420-horsepower performance. Should you choose the extended range battery, the engines work in tandem to produce an even bigger peak of over 560-horsepower, putting the F-150 Lightning comfortably in the high range of all F-150 models regarding performance.
The standard battery pack allows you a driving range of approximately 230 miles, while the extended battery pack allows you a driving range of 300 miles. Both charge with either standard 110-volt home power outlets or by specialty 220-volt home outlets. One of the most unexpected yet helpful uses of the battery pack is that it functions as a backup generator for the home, which can be very helpful in times of power outages or other needs on trips outside of town.
Inside the Cab
The F-150 Lightning has the same basic, comfortable layout as most other F-150 trucks, with pleasant seating and legroom and a sizable center console in the front seat. However, there are some obvious changes unique to the Lightning model. The most obvious difference is an oversized standard 12" diagonal infotainment touchscreen display, which handles everything from drive mode changes and towing assistance to music selection. The Ford truck also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features. Depending on the trim, you can upgrade the display to a 15" diagonal size as well as premium speaker options.
Towing Capacity
While you might feel tempted to tow a massive load, Ford's advised towing capacity for the standard battery is 7,700 pounds. The extended battery pack allows for even more towing capacity at 10,000 pounds.
Safety Features
The new Ford F-150 Lightning comes equipped with a number of standard features for the safety of you and your passengers, including lane departure notification, lane-keeping assistance, and pedestrian detection, all of which can be handy as you navigate around town. As an optional extra, adaptable cruise control with intuitive driving modes can enhance your drives.
